When I re-installed a new OS on my Envy 14 (windows 7 corporate), I lost my keyboard backlight. It's still there for the f10 wireless key, which toggles on and off appropriately, but other than that and the power light, I don't have anything. I've tried reinstalling various drivers but haven't had any luck. I also tried searching through the forum for "backlight" and "keyboard" but didn't come across anyting useful. I have also tried toggling power settings (from power saving to standard), but that didn't affect anything, nor does windows 7 power management seem to concern itself with keyboard backlights.

Does anyone know what driver or other piece of software I need to reinstall to get this working again? Apologies if this is a repost, I did try searching for relevant other posts.

The keyboard backlight (F5) should work WITHOUT drivers.

For the wireless light, you need to install HPQL or HP Wireless Assistant. I recommend HPQL since it's lighter.

    try that old standby.

turn the computer off. unplug it. take out the battery. hold the power button down for 30 seconds to reset stuff.
