i just wanted to try out a movie with the tridef software for the first time since several months on my envy 17 3d 1195ea, and i updated to the newest version (5.0), but when i start the tridef software, the glasses dont turn on as they should...

3d is enabled inside the tridef protal, as well as the player, and the battery is inside my glasses, and it definitely shouldnt be empty, since ive used the glasses for some 30mins since i got the notebook back in march.

i suppose there is some software issue that prevents the IR sensor from sending the corresp. signal to the glasses when i launch the tridef software, but i really dont know what it could be. ive been updating my drivers quite a lot recently, so everything is up-to-date, maybe even "too new", which may be the reason for this issue.

any ideas where to look at?

    thanks

Is there another TV or monitor in the room? Mine won't work with my TV on in the room because the 60Hz refresh rate throws them off.

Very likely the battery is dead. The battery is shipped where you have to remove the tab to get the glasses to work. Over six or so months, the battery is probably very low. CR2032 battery is only a few dollars...get a new one and try again. My glasses started acting up and my 3D visuals were not too good...replaced the battery and all is good now
