I've just recieved my HP Envy M7-J020DX purchased off this groupon site:
HP Envy 17.3" TouchSmart Full 1080p HD Laptop Deal of the Day | Groupon

the biggest reason why i picked this model in particular was because as stated in the description.. it comes with a "17.3" diagonal full-HD anti-glare LED-backlit touchscreen display (1920 x 1080)"

however when i opened up my laptop, i was suprised by a very glossy screen.. definitely not a matte like screen in any regards.
i even checked the box the laptop came in and the description states "anti-glare led display" (all other specs/descriptions/model # match up)

did i receive a incorrect screen or is this particular HP Envy model's "anti glare" screen not really a matte screen and i just expected wrong?

You received the wrong screen. I had 17-inch HP with an "anti-glare" screen and it was certainly matte. Anti-glare is either going to be matte or at least semi-matte like on the old Sony S15. If it's very glossy, then that is not correct. But is it also 1080P? It just happens to be glossy? I assumed that the 1080P screen was only available in matte.

You ordered a touchscreen laptop. All capacitive touchscreen laptops are going to be glass displays because that is needed for the capacitive touch layer. "Anti-glare" touchscreens typically just have some sort of coating that causes them to exhibit less glare than other touchscreens.

This is a Touchscreen m7-j120dx, which is a newer j020dx I think, and TO ME it doesn't look glossy as many do.

Also, there is an HP ENVY TouchSmart 17, and an HP ENVY TouchSmart m7, and they use different parts, including different displays:

17.3-in, AG, FHD, LED TouchScreen display assembly for use on HP ENVY TouchSmart m7 Notebook PC computer models

17.3-in, AG, FHD, LED TouchScreen display assembly for use only on HP ENVY TouchSmart 17 Notebook PC computer models

I just ordered a j043cl but won't get it for a week but will try to post here what it's Anti Glare screen looks like.
