    i have dv2700tw and an old broadcom bcm 4311MCG from a dead dv2315nr.
    I came to know about BIOS lock and mods to rectify it by modding laptop bios. I found it risky and tried to find string id and all but could nt.
    so i have decided to buy a new wireless card from ebay. According to partsurfer HP my laptop supports intel 4965agn part no 441086-001. But i wanted to try intel 5100/5300. My question is will it work with my laptop. mine is pm965 chipset. I have uploaded bios files can some one identify supported chipsets from that...

    i found out that intel 5300/5100 are not white listed. intel 4965 is supported. the only option is bios mod.

    any other useful info please post...
