This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    "esusetuprm" possible trojan in SWsetup

    My Avast! Internet Security flagged "esusetuprm.msi," which is located in your SWsetup folder, as a trojan. Oddly enough, it was not detected using the full system scan, but rather by using the boot time scan or by scanning the SWsetup folder directly. Although it's very possible that this is a false positive, I would like to ask you guys to scan this folder yourself with your own software.

    Edit: To clarify, the location of esusetup.msi is located in your C:\SWSetup\ESUW7

    This sounds more like a false positive. The esusetuprm.msi is a Windows Installer file that allows you to install the Essential System Updates for Windows 7 package.
