    extrange plastic on the hd notebook dv4-1155se like antistatic bag

    hi, i have an hp dv4-1155se, i opened the place where is the hd, and when i opened, i saw the hd has a plastic on the hd, like antistatic or something like this, i would like to know, what is this? and what happened if i take out this plastic? i think plastic helps to have a high hd temperature,

    Is there a vent on the HD door? If so I beleive it's there so when you look through the vent it's a nice appealing black inside and not somthing else. This is how it was in my dv6500t I removed it and nothing happens

    it has a flap that aids in removing the hard drive. you are suppposed to pull on the plastic

    here you can see the pics
    you can see the black plastic, can i remove? if i remove can i damage the hd?

    and is it better for hd works witouth the plastic about the temperature?

    Well whats you hdd temp? if its normal there is no point in taking it out.

    The plastic is there to protect the hard drive from static discharges and dust. Taking it off wont give you a big temperature drop, maybe 2-3c.

    I suggest you keep it. HP might void your warranty for some idiotic reason.

    yeah i think besides antistatic purposes, the flap that you lifted in that picture helps you to remove the hard drive when the screws are removed
