Hey guys I havea dv2000t. I recently switched to vista ultimate x64, everything has been running fine until i tried updating the bios, earlier today. Before updating i had version f.11. I tried reflashing with the latest f.26 bios, after the install was complete, the computer would not turn on!

The volume/mute/play buttons light up in blue, but nothing happens! Nothing appears on the screen!

Any advice? Sucks not having a computer!

First: Try booting to an external USB floppy with the BIOS on the floppy...that might help.
Next: Call HP...they are the only ones who can fix a BIOS-bust.

No i think ppl have tried booting from USB drives instead of floppies and havent succeeded. Also even using a floppy may not work in these instances. Your laptop may be gone, talk to HP and get them to fix it.

remove the battery, wait for a couple of mins and then boot from direct power. see if it helps.

Hmmm, doesnt sound good at all. I've tried restarting without the battery. Also tried to unplug/replug the battery on the motherboard. I bought this laptop last december from costco, i should be able to send it in right? I think it comes stock with a one year.

    any other suggestions?

Busted BIOS upgrade is impossible to be fixed from a user site. You need to return the laptop to the manufacturer.
