    after a couple weeks of my fan buzzing at low rpms, but still working, it has gone out and doesnt work at all. my question is will my standard warranty cover this?

    I believe so if you are still under warranty. You would have to send the laptop in though unless you have house call.

    Yeah, warranty covers this. It's possible to order the replacement part and put in the fan/heatsink assembly yourself if you don't want to send it in.

    Normally they'll arrange for Fedex to come pick it up.
