i recently purchased a dv6500 and the fingerprint worked fine, in the beginning. ive only had it for ablout 12 hours and in the past hour it has stoped working. i looked in troubleshooting and it said to look in the device manager. wheni looked in there it wasnt in there. how is this possible. troubleshooting says that you have to re install verisoft but how do you do this without an install disc??? help plz this is really getting on my nerves for some reason!!!

Did you accidentally uninstall any software? There should be no reason why it stops working.
-
i havent uninstalled any software, but i just recently got a message the device is not working properly and that i should check to see that the drivers are installed properly/ replace the device. the reader seems to be out of whck with the rest of the computer, but i cant remmber if thats how it was in there befor or not, its kinda crooked in the holder... im not sure if it might be broken.. i hope not...

try reinstalling the authentec fingerprint driver and see if it works

If you haven't uninstalled anything or if you haven't done anything software-related, you may have damaged the reader... in record time.
How crooked is it in the holder...? -
you cant notice it unless you really look closely... its really not bad... hpow would i re-install the driver? im not too good with computer stuff...

does anyone know what i might be able to do to fix this??
