hey guys is there any way tp prevent the fingerprint security wizard from popping up everytime i go to log onto a website? can i just swipe my finder instead of that annoyiing popup coming up?

also, is there a way to take the fingerprint logon screen off. so that it only shows the icon with my name and not the icon to click to use the fingerprint security? i still want to be able to use the fingerprint to log od, but i dont want to have the fingerprint icon that looks like a logon screen to be there.

does this make any sense to anyone? LOL

    1. My screen looks like your first picture. However, I do not have to click anything. I simply swipe my finger, and it logs me in. I don't have your problem of having to click one of the icons, nor did I makes any settings to not do so. So, I guess I am of no help there. I am curious as to your neurosis of two icons though. Is your second screenshot of a friend's computer? Is it also an HP?

    2. Also, the reader software does not prompt me for a finger swipe unless I have registered that site for fingerprint login. The fingerprint software has a variety of settings, including a list of sites you have registered for fingerprint login. Mind you, the configuration is not very intuitive, and it make take a few "mastermind guesses" to get the radio buttons set so that it does not prompt you on unregistered sites, but it works.

I had a problem with my fingerprint reader bugging me everytime i accidentally touched it. I only wanted it to be active at log on to Windows. I solved this problem by:

    Open HP ProtectTools Security Manager
    Click Credential Manager
Under General Tab, look for "Fingerprints"
Under Fingerprints, you will see a box that says "Enable automatic fingerprint capture"
    Uncheck that box.
    Hit apply and close.

The results: It wil read my fingerprints at log on, but no more accidental requests for fingerprints when my palm accidently touches the reader.

I have a 9500 and after I updated the video drivers to 7.15.11.0145 from the HP website. The windows logon screen changed to what is shown on your second picture.

Did you by any chance use a Belkin cable to copy files from an older xp computer? For some reason, the program wants to transfer the whole account over, leaving you with a main administrator account, and the one with your files. If you registered your fingerprints with the user acct ... argh ... that's what I've deduced (at least) from my experience with my Dell D630's reader.
