just bought a compaq presario v2410us. after using it for an hour, the screen flickered like mad after i clicked on the left button of the touchpad. i was working on a document which i could not see anymore because of the massive flickering. i could only see portions of the screen on top and at the bottom. i could not see any error message because of the flicker. i also could not shut down using the windows button as it hanged. i had to press the power button for five minutes just to turn it off.

any idea what happened. am inclined to return the unit and exchange it another one.

    here are my specs:
    v2410us
    1.6 turion ml-30
    512 ddr ram
    wxga 14.1 widescreen brightview
    ati radeon xpress 200m igp
    80gb
    dvdrw

    would appreciate any input

Yeah, send it back. Something has either gone wrong with the display or the connection, either way you can't fix it. Be happy it happened now and not a year from now after the warranty was expired.
