does anyone have idea how to burn the 10GB recovery partition to DVDs?
use some functions in the BIOS or special burn software like Nero?
And next step, I guess i should backup the SWSetup folder. But i heard the bloatware are in that folder as well. Maybe I should select carefully and copy them to usb keys.
I will make exactly two partitions for the harddisk. One for OS, app, and the other for documents, data. No recovery or QPD partition.
No QPD, I'd like to reassign the Quicklaunch buttons. but no idea how...... with vista.

There is a program installed while your in Vista under the HP folder which says burn system restore DVDs. The program will burn them for you, all you need is 2 blank Dual Layer DVDs no third party burning software is needed. Have fun though it takes like 3 hours to burn them
It's always a good idea to burn the SWsetup folder however if you don't have a retail DVD or plan on doing a clean install it will be a waste of space. As long as you make the backup DVDs you will be set. Yes the SWsetup folder contains the drivers and all the bloatware installed as well. -
oh, thx. I see. recovery dvds already contain the swsetup files.
for the first vista reinstallation..
