    forcing 4:3 resolution with letterbox for older video games

    for some reason, i'm not able to force ATI to maintain aspect ratios on older games, specifically, counter-strike 1.6

    I played this game for 8+ years in 4:3 resolutions of either 800x600 or 640x480, and the new widescreen option don't tickle my fancy, nor does playing in those resolution with the game stretched out to fit the 16:9 HD resolution. is there a fix for this? and if not are there external 16:9 monitors that allow the letterboxing?

    by letter boxing i mean black bars on the side. this is what i prefer for older games.

    You are describing GPU scaling. Not sure where it is in CCC off the top of my head though.
