Has HP ever offered a full sized keyboard minus the numpad for their 17" machines (say, a G70)?

I would assume not, seeing as numpads on 17" laptops are often a selling point...

You can get old Dell's w/o the numpad though...

I wonder what you would do with that extra space without the numberpad...

    Ah, Mug holder!!

You'd need to be an HP expert to answer that one. Anyway, it would kinda defeat the term since a number pad is synonymous with a full size keyboard. Still, read review of laptops with keyboard layouts equivalent to full size. I've no idea though, if HP makes one of them

to me, a full-sized keyboard is one with full-sized typing keys, not an extra 22 keys that are seldom used.

Most laptops that I'm aware of have full size keys. Heck, my HPtx2500 has full size keys. Well except the Function keys.

Seems like Sony used to delete the numpad, but I personally use mine all the time, so wouldn't want to be without it. Actually, bought a 15.6 inch screen HP with an AMD processor, which I said I'd never do, just because it had the numpad about a year ago.

"Most laptops that I'm aware of have full size keys."

Seconded ... in fact you can start to see the use of laptop style keys on mainstream desktop keyboards now. I have used a Logitech DiNovo BT set for 3 years now, and lets not forget to mention the Mac's Keyboard with "chicklet" style keys as well ...
