I guess you mean CPU at 32-36C.

Turion is rated to have max Temp of 95C.

Harddrive temps seems to be high especially you're using notebook cooler.

Harddrive at 32-36C is about right.

CPU at 50-55C at full load is about right. Depending on BIOS version, Fan will turn on at 55C and turn-off at 50C.

F.13 Bios changed that 58-60C ON, 50C OFF.

During Idle, CPU should not reach 50C especially with a notebook cooler.

well my notebook was on for about 4-5hrs? maybe that explains it? right now i just booted the notebook and it starts out at 45C, it has been 15 mins now and its 55c with my notebook cooler, should i put the fan directly under the fan? or placement shouldnt matter? overall my notebook feels cooler however internally the temps look the same, im using a vantec 305, setting it on the highest RPM, also I'm using F.21 and I can't seem to change the fan settings and when to start them anywhere.

I think may be your CPU is running at full speed, because with Cooler typically cpu runs in Low 40s or high 30s(mine around 38-42C with cooler).

Check the your CPU speed and let us know. May be it is AMD driver issue.

And also try RMCLock, that helps a lot.

    I second Chinna's suggestion.

    Check your Windows Power Scheme.

Also, use Mobilemeter to monitor speed and Temps.

If speed is stuck at max speed (1.6/1.8/2.0 Ghz), that could explain the temps.

Speed should go slow down to 800Mhz when under light load/idle.

Its strange because my hard drive temp is also up there. It idles at 51-52 and the highest I've ever seen it go is 55. I'm thinking it has something to do with the sensor. I have a feeling it might be broken or something like that.

Here are some other temps I have
    Temp 1: 25
    DIMM: 36
    CPU: 37
    GPU: 37

That explains your temps. Make sure you select Portable power scheme under power options.

If that did not help to run 800Mhz, then you have a wrong AMD driver, so get the old version AMD driver from HP site. New version has some issues with Turion.

If you want further reduce temps and also have little better battery life, then try RMClock.

There are many instruction on how to use RMClock on these laptops, follow the instructions and you will be good.

No, that is the way it is designed, and that is what it is supposed to do for all Turions, P-M etc.

They see the proc usage and adjust according to the need.

There is no point running it at full speed always for any reason what soever. It knows when you need speed. :)

My HDD is usually in the 45-50C range but if on for more than 2-3 hours it gets to 51-52. I have a concern here - I was burning a couple of DVDs the other days and it was somewhat warmer in the room. After the first DVD the HDD temp was about 52-53 I think. I thought that would be the max it will get and started a second DVD. I saw it progress to say 60-70%, HDD about 55 degrees and left it for a minute. Then I heard it power off!? I'm pretty sure the HDD overheated, probably 56 degrees. Anyone with similar problems?
