hey i just got a hp 9000 with vista ultimate. i checked my display settings and it shows that i have 256 dedicated (obviously) and then 271 shared. now i remember from my old laptop with xp that you could go into bios and adjust this number... is that still possible with vista? i looked around in bios and didnt see anything. and even if i found it, is 271 the highest i can make it ( i have 2gb ram btw)...thanks in advance...

the bios has nothing to do with xp or vista, its a completely seperate program. if the feature is available then yes you could but i have a dv9000 with 256 like you and there is no such feature. and besides 256MB is all you need on the go7600 as it cannot use anything more than that (see related threads on this) and also any RAM it does take from the system is useless because such RAM would be very slow as system RAM is slower than the RAM on the graphics card. i think the adjustment settings are available only when you have an integrated graphics anyways.
