Hi everyone, I just ordered a new laptop (hp dv6z) from the hp website and I was wondering if it is going to be any good for gaming at all..

    • Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
    • AMD Turion(TM) X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-85 (2.3GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
    • 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    • 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    • ATI Radeon(TM) HD 3200 Graphics
    • 16.0" diagonal High Definition HP Brightview Display (1366x768)

    Thanks!

the ati 3200 is an integrated card if im not mistaken, so expect low settings and low res with 15-25 fps in modern games

UT2004 will be OK. Anything newer, maybe, maybe not. Think Radeon 2400 on the desktop.

Ideally you'd get one of the models with a Radeon 4650. There might be some new choices next week when Win7 officially launches.

I dont know if it's comparable. I have a desktop mb with the intergrated ati 3200. I can play crysis, and crysis2 on them. of course there are these graphic snobs that turn their nose up at anything that isnt 2 days old.

Personally, I don't like AMD. Over heat.

I don't know what games you expect to play. Like Crysis? No way.
But maybe some games like C-S or DoDs. I know people that play that with computers with way worse specs than that.
