as this is my first laptop i need to ask some qustions.

how do you charge the battery or do you have to buy a charger(which would suck after payin so much money)

how do you check the temp of the processor?

ive seen people talk bout what screen they have how do i find out about the screen, all i can find out is the graphics card adapter.

oh and can you get rid of the hp recovery drive without reformatting? i havent really clicked on it to see whats inside yet if anything.

    1. the notebook comes with a charger

    2. look at google for some freewares

    3. look the id under device manager

    4. on C Drive > Windows > Creator folder, double-click on RPREMOVAL.EXE (recovery partition removal tool). this may take you 10 seconds to remove 10GB of hdd!

To charge your battery just put it in the laptop (probably is already in it) and plug up the power adapter that came with the laptop. It should charge in about an hour or so and you can use the laptop while it is charging. As for a program to monitor the temperature of your processor (as well as your frequency and hard drive temps) try mobile meter, which you can find here:

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/MobileMeter.shtml

    Good luck and happy computing!

Actually it goes down because of AMD's power down technology (I forget the official name for it) but what it does is that it will slow the processor speed down when you don't need that much speed and will automatically bump the speed up when you need it. This saves power and extends your battery life some. Sometimes people like to disable this feature but I think it is a good feature and there is really no need to disable it because it will still use the full processor speed if you need it. The millisecond it takes to bump the speed back up is not at all noticeable.

you need to turn the power to Maxium performance to be at Max 2.00Ghz. Or else it will just switch dynamicly single core or dual depend on the cmputer load.
And you idle temp is 53? how about Max temp?
My 6000z run around 53-55C idle. go up to around 60-62C usually fan kicks in around 57 or 58. Fan is fairly quiet, but not as quiet as my old DV5000z well I guess the case is thiner. Max temp I saw was a 67C.

if you are not going to test around how are you going to be able to write a good review? and trust me CPU temp never stay the same all the time. I think you should study up more about computer before you do any review or advice to anyone. I suggest you go to Notebook review area to dig out the DV6000Z review and study it.

The Max temp is when your are stress testing the comp. see what is the highest temp it will go. This is an important concept, which you need to flip it to Max power to see it! you need to analyze everything not just what you want to see. Also stress testing does show some durablity in it. Some new comp died during stress test, which means it has problem it can't run to it full potenial power and later can become a problem. By the way the temp software program you have probably suck!
