    Hi

I got my brand new dv6t quad edition today and I have noticed something strange with my right click button on my trackpad. I need to see if it is the same for those who own this laptop also.

    Description:

The left click button feels solid, I can click from anywhere on the button and I am able to left click just fine. The problem is with my right click button. When I click the button it does not have the same solid feel as the right. It feels flimsy when I hit the right click button on the right side of the button (starting from the end of the right click button to 1cm inwards/leftwards). In this flimsy area, it doesnt resgister a click when my press my finger down in the area. Does this happen for everyone else or just me? :(

I had two of the DV6's and while there was a slight difference in the sound of the trackpad buttons, they worked properly. I'd call HP for assistance on that issue as it won't get any better.

This seems unusual and most likely defective. I can click either one of my buttons anywhere on the button and it feels solid and registers. Sounds like there is something wrong IMO.

Both of my buttons feel terrible at the edge. Near the center they feel ok, but they are loud and annoying.

But definately feel wobbly and cheap on the outsides.

I dont understand why so many laptop manufacturers can never seem to get the trackpads and buttons correct. Both of these buttons are ridiculously loud and sound and feel different depending on where you click on the button. In fact, after messing with them for a little while there is a spot on the right button near the top that basically cannot be pushed. The button goes down, but there is no click.

I purchased a lenovo ideapad Y460p earlier this year and returned it after it basically blew up within a couple hours, but the buttons on the pad were the best I have used by far. They almost felt soft to the touch, and made no noise at all when clicking.

My right click has the exact same issue as yours - it won't register a click on the rightmost part of it unless I click really hard. It doesn't bother me much since I'm using a mouse instead, but generally speaking I haven't been too impressed with the build quality of the dv6t. Among other issues are LED light leakage from the right edge (disk drive light), inconsistent framing around the edges, and an "upwards-arced" touch pad (i.e. left/right click don't line up horizontally with the touch pad part).
Quite frankly, though, you really can't beat the specs you get at this price :D

It's not a huge deal. Just a little annoying. The speakers are also quite possibly the worst I have ever heard. Unless there is just something wrong with mine. My 2 year old Asus sounds much better, and I thought the speakers on it were nothing special.

One things for sure though, the screen is absolutely perfect.

Yes, touchpad == loud and annoying and not terribly consistent
speakers == typical laptop speakers with no bass and limited frequency range.
