guys.... does the hard-drive protect thingamajiggy work on the dv5t, i have the dv5t 1009tx, no matter how you move it the harddrive led makes no indication that it is parking the heads...as oppsoed to the t41 i had previously y with the software on those things showed the most minute-est of vibrations

and also if you could show me how you (or anyone) who has enabled the SRS audio on their IDT soundcards

and as usual......everything is latest right down to the QLB post made a few hour ago :p

    PS this is urgent...... but

are the DV5T's batteries Lithium ion or Nickel Metal Hydride?

If you are running Win7, the Vista driver for hdd protection does not work but only makes the unknown device disappear from device manager.

Download latest version, that should help. However with my 8510w I can't verify hdd protection working either but with 5101 can see hdd led turn red when I sneeze :p Maybe it needs more shaking but I don't dare to try.

thanks KLF..... that puts my mind at ease for now... you are right thouh, the t41 i had before the DV5T had an excellent (almost gyroscopic HDD protect, it would show the laptop in any axis it was held in , and would cease platters if te rotation exceeded set parameters)
