im going for dv-9000t CTO,dont know y hp removed all 7200 rpm harddrives,so im going to have 80 GB 5400 rpm.
can i buy another 80 GB 7200 rpm (seagate momentus) and make it works with the built in 5400rpm together and ofcourse make 7200 rpm primary and the 5400 rpm secondary?

I think you can do that, but you may have to physically swap the drives around. That is the say, you have to move the 5400 rpm drive to the secondary slot, and fit the new 7200 rpm drive into the primary slot. I think this is what you'll have to do, but i'm not totally sure. Also, bear in mind, that you will not be able to RAID them, as the drives do not have the same spin rate.

    It'll also void your warranty.

You'll need to buy a bracket for the second HD, available from partsurfer.hp.com. Replacing a HD shouldn't void your warranty.

I always wondered about that, i just got my dv6000t a month ago and think 100gb is not enough for me and my music, can i fit another HD like 120gb inside and use them together and if so how?

Nope...the dv6000 isn't made for that. Only one (obscure company) made a dual hard drive 15.4" notebook once. All dual HDDs notebooks I know of are 17"+.

For you I'd look at a 2.5" USB External HDD or getting one of those 160GB@5400RPM or 200GB@4200RPM HDDs on www.newegg.com.

Upgrading a hard drive isn't that hard, and just about anyone could do it. It is definitely easier than trying to cook!

Installing/upgrading hard drives does not void HP's warranty.

    Not that I know of.

I could be incorrect, though. I'll do some research on it and see if I can find an answer.
