so im having this problem.already posted on general forum but i figured it would be better here.

i have ati hd4650 1gb gddr3 in this hp. should be 550 gpu clock and 667 memory clock. when i go to gpu-z graphic card tab it shows that values but when i go to the sensor tab it shows gpu core clock 220mhz and memory clock core 250 mhz.. it is on hp recommended power style. and interesting thing happens when i unplug it. memory clock core jumps to 396 mhz.. why is this so?

i checked power options and when its plugged in graphic should work for best performance.

    any ideas?

hi dude may be its downclocking to save power when you are not running heavy gpu tasks such as games.while running a 3dmark 06 test, check your clocks.i am sure you will see standard clocks.also compare your 3dmark score with others so you will get the idea if its working fine or not.

tried to do what u said but i cant check clocks while running 3dmark cause it drops some error when i try to minimize it.

also i played aion all maxed out for an hour, i minimized it and i find same clocks as before.

Did you click "Show Highest Reading" in GPU-Z? My clocks are the same when I am not gaming but whenever I load a game up, they automatically go up to 550/667

it was on current reading, but even if i change it to show highest reading clock stay the same.. even when i load the game.. when im playing for about 5-6H temp goes to 65 max, if its that high on these clocks what would happen if they were like they should be?

    also i got 6300 in 3dmar06 and 11500 in 3d mark 05
    specs r intel core 2 duo 2.13ghz, hd4650 gddr3,4gb ddr3 1066mhz, hdd 500gb 7200 rpm..

    also windows 7 index - processor 5.6, graphic 6.6, memory 6.6 and hdd 5.9.
and gaming aion 1366x768 all maxed out, 8xAA,v sync on, and i get 50-60 fps

should 3dmarks be around that level and aion fps?

I don't know what is up with that because you would not get that kind of performance at 220/250. Maybe GPU-Z is not reading it right.
