i own an hdx16t. ive been having trouble with it for a while now. the treble and bass will uncontrollably adjust itself up and down. when this happens the dialog box comes up with the volume, bass and treble levels and i can see it adjusting up and down. also when this happens it will occasionally disable my wireless too. This is beyond frustrating. I have called HP and they had me flash the bios which worked for a day and they had me reinstall drivers and such which didnt fix it either. I also uninstalled the HP quick launch buttons from the control panel but they still function. I thought that was pretty weird.

Does anyone know of a fix for this or how I can disable my media smart controls so this will stop happening?

Mine has been having the exact same problem for a few months now. I wish there was a solution to it.

It's extremely annoying to be at school using WiFi and have it disable every 5 minutes or so...

Not only that, when the volume control image comes up it takes control of the screen. I read somewhere that it has something to do with the heat sensitive aspect of the buttons. I also remember someone saying they had to send their laptop back to HP to have the strip replaced.

I would do this, but I am still using my laptop daily...
