I have a problem with the card reader. It doesn't work. So I unassembled the laptop and found out it is disconnected. There card reader pops in a metal frame and is held down by 2 plastic bits that are on the lower part of the card reader itself and go in the motherboard (see the 2 yellow circles). Now the plastic bits have broken off. I guess they are supposed to block the card reader from moving inside the laptop. However the card reader is firm in place once it pops in the frame but i doubt it will hold a long time. So I am going to superglue two small screews through the motherboard holes (yellow circles) directly to the card reader, instead of the broken plastic bits. Now here is the real problem; the whole card reader connectors line up to the motherboard connectors perfect but they are held down just by the metal frame. I mean, is it possibile this is how the connection is supposed to be? No cable, or soldered? Has anyone a motherboard underhand that can check if the card reader is supposed to be like this? I doubt it would work, and am thinking maybe to solder it.
