I recently bought an HP ZT 3000, and had a problem ordering it online. As a result, my aunt ordered it over the phone, and asked the representative to put in the same features as the laptop I had selected. Now, that person forgot to add the bluetooth. Do you think it is worth arguing with the HP guys about the mistake. Now the price of the ZT 3000 has come down drastically. Can I call up HP and ask them whether they will add those features, and whether they will give me a credit of the diffrerence in the amount of the price now and the price at the time I ordered it ?
Thanks a lot guys for ur help
P.S Does the 1.5 or 1.6 really make a big difference or can I survive? I don't play too many games. Maybe serious sam or counterstrike. I'll mainly use the laptop for watching movies, college work, taking notes, hm.. i guess thas abt it.. and oh yea.. is it worth sending it back and ordering another laptop for the difference in 1.5 and 1.6
thanks a lot guys

Sorry to hear about your problems.
Once your order was approved, they started building your ZT. You would have to call HP and see if it is too late to add the bluetooth. My guess would be yes, it's too late.
However, if your exact configuration (w/o bluetooth) has went down in price since ordering, they will give you the credit. Just call them and let them know that the price of your configuration has dropped by whatever amount. They will confirm it and credit the credit card. They will continue to price adjust up to 30 days from the day you receive your unit. In this case, the price dropped before you even got it. So, that is a plus. I believe HP would rather credit you than have you return it as soon as you get it. Most who tried (via the x1000 forum) was able to get their refund. I also received a credit on my ZT because it went down $49 within my 30 day period.
So even after you get it, keep watch on the ZT's price for 30 days. If it goes down even further, call them and get the difference credited. After the 30 days, if it goes down, all you can say then is 'Oh Well'. This is what I had to do. After receiving the $49 credit, the machine went down another $50 the following week. However, I was beyond my 30 days of receiving, so 'oh well'. [] At least I got the first half.
As for the processor you can survive on either the 1.5 banias or the 1.6 dothan. Both are very fast and decent processors. In my opinion, it is not worth sending it back for the 1.6. The 1.5 will do fine for what you stated. Of course, if there is a problem during the 30 day return and exchange period such as dead pixels or something not working right, send it back. At that point, I would order the 1.6 only for 'future' proof, if you can. But, if the notebook is working perfectly when it arrives and no dead pixels, count yourself blessed and keep it.
Hope the rest of your HP experience goes well. I am enjoying my ZT3000. [8D] -
Hey ,
Thanks a lot. Um, ur advice about dead pixels was helpful too .. but how do i find out whether my PC has ne dead pixels?
Additinoally, my mouse pad froze once when i turned it off and turned it on again.. at that time my scroll bar wasnt working so i did that. Do you think this problem will persist? If so, should i ask them to give me a refund, or just make a new mouse pad and give it back?
additionally, does installing XP professional on my PC do nething to my warranty? Thanks alot for answerign all these questions
