Season 2 Episode 8 of Mr. Robot aired Aug 24, 2016 so I'm assuming it came out before that. It looks like it has a big screen, maybe 17 inch? It's a full keyboard with a numpad and the touchpad is off-center (to the left, aligned with the alphabet part of the keyboard). The power button is notable -- round and lit up. Like this Toshiba: https://www.geek.com/deals-2/geek-deals-799-for-a-haswell-core-i7-17-inch-toshiba-laptop-1581957/
It seems the Toshiba's also made laptops that have two colors on the base as pictured (black and silver).

The keyboard looks fake. The buttons don't look raised at all. So it may be a fake laptop that doesn't exist in the real world (a staged laptop). When they switched to a shot of his hands they use a completely different laptop that is all black, which I found interesting. In the next scene the guy is using a completely different laptop.

Based on these images, I think the laptop pictured is very old. The ports may be located towards the front of the laptop because that may be an optical drive towards the back of the laptop, which is a thing of the past. I can't tell from the 1080p clip that I looked at.

I have no idea why I'm doing this during my precious procrastination time. Why do you need to know this? If the reason is worthy I'll try to look into a 4K clip to see if that really is an optical drive.

Upon further procrastination and random image searches I have concluded that the laptop came out after 2014 and before Aug, 2016. When I squint my eyes I also think I see an ethernet port which are uncommon these days. But the laptop is a lot thinner than older laptops.

It's amazing how much thinner and sleaker laptops have gotten over the last 5 years. I have a newfound appreciation for my new HP that arrived today. However, I promised myself that I'm not opening the box until I get my work done. On that note, back to work...

    hey nosauce!
first of all, thank you for helping me

the images that u've sent are look familiar but i think they're not this laptop, noticed about the fake keyboard and the function key's bar(or maybe something like touchbar thing)
i'll appreciate if you help me to find the (probably exact) model. (obviously if it exist )

i am looking for this laptop because i thinks it is so freaking nice looking from the side and it's very stylish, it looks thin and i love that glowing power button and the speaker's position
i love thin and stylish laptops that looks like this one from the side.
i know theres tons of familiar looking laptops out there but this one really owns my attention! and i don't know why..
i'm a software engineer, already own a macbook but i *hate it so much..
i was about to look for a nice looking laptop, it is really important to me because i'm spending more than 7-8 hours with my laptop everyday

yeah! this laptop is so thinner than what could have a Ethernet port,
i noticed that port too! but i thought it's an HDMI, or maybe it's not even an HDMI port and it looks bigger than other two ports because of shadow? not sure.
it could be a Ethernet port look like this one on EliteBook 840 G5:
