Hello im going to get my notebook on end of December or start of January!!!
YEEAAAAH!!!
Im getting dv9000t from www.costco.com customizing link i suppose but i dont know how to customize it better, so my budget is 1700 with tax and everythink, so near 1560$ for customizing.I dont need any special accesories besides of remote control, also i need 2gb RAM and Windows MCE or PRO for Vista upgrade, i need 1680x1200 resolution, wifi+blutooth and recovery dvd...thats all And im expecting to be able to upgrade it for another 250$ in 5 month. THats allso the main point of this thread how to customize it most usefull and be able to upgrade some stuff later

The only things that you will really be able to upgrade down the line would be the memory or hard disk. The most basic processor will probably be plenty powerful. Have you considered any other notebooks? 1700 bucks is quite a lot of money to spend, especially on a consumer level notebook.

IMO if you want all three features, the dv9000t is one of the best choices for the best price.
If you can shell out a few hundred more dollars:
The Asus G1 and G2 are coming out soon, you might want to check those out in the Asus forums.
Toshiba has the P105 series, which is a gaming laptop (Geforce Go 7900GS, with 256 MB GDDR3 graphics memory) that sells for around $1800 that has very impressive benchmarks, but it lacks a built-in webcam and other multimedia features. -
-
I'd consider the e1705. The dv9000 is not a bad laptop, it's just that the 7600 is not the best card you can fit into a 17inch.
-
What do you mean "7600 is not the best card you can fit into a 17"?
-
-
I have no issues with the 7600, it's a fine card. I only think that if one is going to bear the trouble of owning a 17 inch DTR, it should have a more powerful card. You can get the 7600 in a 14.1". -
If you will watch for the HP coupons you can save more by going to HP Shopping and using their configurator. Use coupon code NB8402 (expires 12/11) to get $250 off. You'll save about $100 vs. Costco.

As much as I think HPs generally have better quality these days than Dells (maybe just because I use the business models), I think the e1705 is more up your alley if you want gaming. You can get a model with the 7900GS for in your price range. I've heard good things about that line - it should fit you well.
As stated above, if you can hold out for the new Asus computers, you might want to check those out instead - I didn't have a great experience with my previous Asus but I seem to be the exception, not the rule. -
ASUS seem to get better & better everydays. I think they r catching up witht the elite brands in notebook catagories

But thru Hp Shopping you only have a:
21 day return window..
Thru Costco you get a:
180 day return window.
Thru Costco for example if you get a unit that has a "problem" you can either send it in to HP for "repair", just like you had purchased from HP, Or just return it getting ALL your money back within minutes... You can then reorder the same, another model, mfg.... or get your money back and go somewhere else to buy something totally differant if needed.
That's the options you get purchasing thru COSTCO, or www.COSTCO.com
Buying thru Hp and after 21 days you're stuck with fighting Hp on a repair... ONLY option is getting the unit repaired... (exchanges are done, but after 21-days you'll have to fight to get an exchange done... and if the model itself is "problematic" you'll have a "real fun time getting it swapped out for something else..
(BTW: Note alot of people are reporting when they send their unit in, Units are being received back "damaged", are all scratched up when they get it back from HP "repair".. so take pictures of it with a newspaper /headline in background with DATE to prove condition BEFORE sending it in for "repair".
Note that if you happen to get a unit /model that is "problematic".. which means the model itself has inherent "problems" which there is NO known fix for..., and the mfg drags their feet on a "fix", you'll be kicking yourself from purchasing thru HP Shopping for sure... because you'll be stuck with it.
Example: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=57325
BTW: Since the consumer grade of products has a very short production cycle and is used as a "test-bed' for new ideas and unproven hardware the chance of such is great...

One reason HP went with the 7600, is the 7600 supports HDMI output... allowing a direct connection to a Big screen HDTV...

I read a lot of forumners getting their notebook from COSTCO. Do they privided service for Asia market as well? Or only in States & Canada?
-
You might try Googling around on that... checking out www.costco.com... maybe the "about us" , or "history" of Costco page????

Enjoy the convenience of 1-Hour Photo Service, Fresh Bakery, Fresh Meat, Fresh Fish, Tire Center and a Food Court featuring fresh pizza and cold soft drinks and our own Kirkland Signature line of products.
I dont intend to buy bread, fish, prawn, fish or pizza online
Check the COSTCO, only in US & Canada -
In the US for example allot of the stuff in the STORE, isn't listed on the WEBSITE and the store and the website are two differant divisons.
From briefly looking at the site, searching in your behalf... it looks like the site is fairly new?
I find it hard to believe that locations in Asia would not carry electronics.... website may not have it, but I bet they have tv's and stuff at the store... Computers too....
You contacted them yet to confirm or deny?
.
help to customize dv9000t :)
