    help with dvd playback

    ok so i ordered my lappy (dv5000t) and i did a reinstall of XP. but my problem now is that i cant get dvd's to play on the comp. when i put one in it says that it wont play due to the screen resolution. but i tryed changing that and it still wont work. i think i might need a driver but im not sure. what would you guys suggest i do. thanks in advanced for the help

    What DVD player are you using? Best thing to do is try VLC player first, IMO. You should be able to play DVDs without any changes to a fresh install of XP.
