hi i got a pavilion dv2630ae and i was wanting xp 64 on teh thing, i have had xp on it and got a 64 bit version, andway long story short, i made the disk via nlite using the same method to make a x86 disk but when i went to install i got an error half way through saying drivers are not x64 compatable, any ideas as to a solution or does anyone have the correct drivers,

    cheers

32-bit drivers cannot be used on a 64-bit system; they must be compiled for a 64-bit OS. The drivers associated with your model and OS can be found on the manufacturer website.

    1. I went to google and typed in "hp notebook support", it was so easy because it was the first result...shame on you.

    2. HP website directed me to DV2630ea and NOT an "ae" suffix like you said.

    3. They didn't provide 64bit drivers for windows XP but they did provide drivers for 64bit Vista.

    4. Ask any knowledgable person around, 64bit vista program & driver compability is much much greater and better then 64bit XP.

    5. I would recommend installing Vista 64bit if you really want 64bit support instead of XP 64bit.
