    high pitch whine emanting from brand new dv6700

    Hi all,

    I just got the dv6700 2.5 ghz 4 ram pc and as soon as i turned it on i heard this incessant stubborn irritating high frequency whine that drove me nuts. any suggestions please and thanks!!

    that is the processor whine i believe, you need to send it in for repair or better yet return it and hope that you wont get one that whines. I would also check your power brick because as is with most people sometimes this also makes the whine.

    The power brick whine is more like a fizzing sound. It's very quiet.

    what's a power brick? my noise is more like a high pitch resonating frequency. its so god **** irritating. im so effin disappointed with this machine. Anyways should i take it in for repair and if i do what exactly would they do. sorry for the questions but im really upset about this.

    A power brick is your laptop's AC adapter... specifically the rectangular brick shaped converter part of it.
