I have bought povilion dv9500 about 2 weeks ago.
all things seem great but I see that my laptop gets very hot all the times
especially when I play games like nfs carbon, the graghic card seems very very hot.
my hard disk gets hot too .
    I feel hotness beneath touchpad.
please inform me whether yours is like mine or not .
and does it make problems ?
is there any ways to reduce hotness?

I installed win xp 2 days ago,and now searching for drivers
the most troublesome driver was finding 8600m gs driver for xp.
check out this link it has a driver for 8600m gs
but it is a forceware driver I do`nt know whether it works or not!
what is the meaning of forceware at all?is there any difference between this and the real 8600m gs driver?

I returned mine and reorderd. What HD speed do you have. I had 7200 rpm. Mine overheated just surfing the web.

A number of the 9500's seem to have a heat challenge. Might be why no GT graphics card is being offered, though the challenge seems to be with the HD's.

Run some temp diagnostics programs and check with HP support. I'd return it and try again if tech support can not cure your probelem act quickly as you are within the 21 days.

It seems to me theat HP is experencing some quality control issues on this point.
