    how do i change the task bar?

    i have vista premium and i wanted to know how to make the task bar clear like the rest of my open windows? my brothers f572us is clear on the bottom but mine is grey. i have a presario f730us. and i have windows aero on with the clear feature on to.

    If your window borders are transparent, I bet the taskbar is clear, and looks grey only because of your wallpaper. Try changing your wallpaper, see if the taskbar changes. Also, it's only transparent if you dont have a window maximized. Make sure your windows aren't maximized, and try dragging one down, behind the taskbar.

    i forgot, i have tried many different backgrounds and even had the same one as my brother's. you could see his background behind the task bar, but couldnt see mine, even with the same background. and yes no matter if i have the window max, min or none at all, it makes no difference.

    It could be from your power settings. I think it might be the brightness of your screen.

    what should i change the brightness to? i have it on the brightest.

    i am plugged in right now to. and when im not plugged in i have it on high performance.

    Odd. Are you sure transparency is on? Right click on the desktop, go to Personalize, go to Window Color and Appearance, see if "Enable Transparency" is checked. Yank the Color Intensity to the left, too, to make everything more transparent. If none of this helps, then I dont know.

    yep ive had it on and i had it all the way to the left to make it the most transparent. o well. i realy do want to thank you guys for being so helpful tho! thank you so much!
