Hi. today most desktop lcd monitors like to brag about their response time, like 2ms. but i can not find any of that information for my (or any) laptop monitor. i assume that it would be a lot slower than a desktop, my guess is around 8ms but how do i find out?

    Thanks!

As far as I know, most LCD panels for Notebooks are made by Phillips or LG (I think?), the Dual lamp, ultrabright view has a 8ms response time, others are much longer like 25ms or more. Power limitations and size play a big factor and you trade brightness for resolution as I understand it.

How do you find out whose the maker of your LCD? And does anyone install anything for their monitors (like color profiles)? I recently reinstalled WinXP so I didn't notice if it came installed on my laptop under Vista.

    Thanks.
