 I can turn on my QPlay, but can't get the ctrl-alt-del to work.
Any info, my power led is out and i'm hope there is another way around to get on the internet.

What exactly are you trying to do. I saw your other thread yesterday but you need to elaborate more. Are you saying that your computer won't boot into windows?

Power button was hard to push, speakers stopped working, led light on power button is now off.
I can get headphone jack to work ok.
If I push down on the side of the power button, not on the button, light comes on and sometime the speakers work.
I think I will need a new power ribbon.
I wanted to turn the PC on without the power button by the quickplay button and the ctrl-alt-del. but can't get it to work.

First of all, thanks for your reply.
It is a HP Pavilion dv6000.
    mod# is dv6119us notebook.
HP repaired it under the warr-recall about last december, it was dead.
bios is F4.0 when I got it back, and they said a new motherboard was installed.

Yes you will need a new power ribbon. The notebook should start when pressing the quickplay button (not together with ctrl+alt+del, just on its own), if it doesn't then it means the cable to the quickplay button is cut too, even if the LED lights up.

Just buy new ribbons and be done with it. They're easy to replace.

As the unique says, you will need to replace the cable or in the least, check to see that it is seated properly in its connector.

See the service manual for location and disassembly instructions:

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035677.pdf

    Pages 5-24 to 5-27.

Then google the part number on page 5-24 for a replacement or look on ebay.

    Thanks for all the info.
Have you changed these and how hard is? I never had my pc apart.
I don't know what a repair shop would charge.
I know you can't break something that is broken, so it may be worth a try.

It's fairly easy since the manual has basically an illustrated guide. It pretty much tells you the steps required. The rest should be intuitive once you start.

I've changed enough to be able to do it even if you'd wake me up at 3am. For the touch buttons you'll just have to remove the six silver screws under the battery. Then prop a credit card under the left corner of the touch panel (right under the display, if you have a model with silver top it's impossible to miss, you have to insert the card where the silver panel meets the black main body), and the panel should unclip. Do the same on the right side and it will pop off.

Everything else will be pretty much straightforward.

I see on ebay a 431437-001 cable, looks like the same hp, do you use any other brand?
If I remove the 5 screws in the battery compartment and 2 on the touchpad, 1 other inside, will this be enough to remove the QP cover and keyboard?
Will the cables be exposed enough to replace or have you a better way?

Oh yeah you also need to remove the keyboard, i forgot about it. Yes, removing the quickplay panel and keyboard it's all that is needed. Two screws are on the keyboard under the touch panel, and the third keyboard screw is on the back of the laptop, it has a little keyboard symbol inscribed next to it.
