    how good is the hp compaq 8510p screen? i hear alot of people saying that the matte screen lacks brightness. is that true?

    Mine is fine. I see no problems with it. Even if it does, in ATI catalyst center, you can brighten it.

    If anything, the 8510p matte is too bright. I never have it running at full brightness. At the highest setting, it appears brighter than the LED 15" MBP I had for awhile.

    I second that. It is too bright at full brightness for me too. I set mine to about 65% brightness.
