I am using a freshly installed winxp on dv2000t and I am wondering how I can get volume bar show on the screen when I press quickplay volume buttons.
Is this a feature for windows media center addition or it is provided by a hp package? Which package to install?

Ive got winxp home and it doesnt show up. the newest quickplay button update gives u a volume bar but it is a very annoying one that minimizes movie and game windows whenever u change the volume. the other kind that u probably had was a media center version, search ehtray in this forum and u will find a way to get it back by downloading the ehtray and doing a few other easy things.

yes, only MCE is supposed to have that but there are a number of third party programs that do it. Besides, MCE's ehtray, works too, as SideSwipe said (and I use it)

I manually stop my ehtray due to a screensaver bug with one of MS Mouse(3000 series). The screensave won't come one...anyways, the point is THANKS. My volume bar doesn't work unless I start and exit media center(starts ehtray in the process of doing this). At least now I know why I don't see the vol bar.

hmm? if u put a shortcut to ehtray.exe (in windows>ehome) in ur docs & settings><username>>start menu>programs>startup folder it should start up every time regardless of whether u have mce home or prof
how to bring back the volume bar?
