so after i did my thing with disabling the headphones codec through windows 7 i noticed the Beats icon in my system tray is gone... And I cannot seem to find away to get it back... its like if i disabled the headphone only codec that it was beats its self i disabled...

anyone know a way to get it back i tried the beats.exe with no luck to it coming back on...

my main problem is that i cannot hear peoples voice on Second Life without that program going and telling it that it needs to output voice onto the speakers and headphones codec...

i did a system restore.. and it was back and the headphones only codec was re initiated and i could hear people on SL but i had to reinstall itunes.. which required a restart this was after i deleted the headphones only codec once more...

when i pullled out my headphones windows 7 wouldnt detect any audio source at all so i restarted and it self installed the IDT driver again..

so now that i have no beats running

anyway you guys know i can have the headphones and speaker codec only and have beats and what not still up and running? without system restoring?

that headphone only codec just causes problems with alot of my programs idk why its even there...

In Control Panel you have the HP Beats Audio Control Panel.

Sounds like you're winning. I want to change the icon to something more hi-res and less tool-ish than a Beats By Dre (powered by Monster Cable) logo. Sigh.

In any case, yeah, the audio control should still be in your control panel. If not, you could try uninstalling the panel, removing the device and then reinstalling the idt download from HPs site.

Control panel -> device manager -> sound

    Uninstall IDT driver

    reboot

Just to chime in, I have the IDT CODEC driver installed on my system and my Beats control panel works fine with the icon in my system tray, so I wouldn't think the IDT driver would be causing the OP's problem.

Yes, and what happens when you delete it? Windows reinstalls it for you, and the accompanying beats software. ;)

Ahh - I didn't realize that's where you were going and mistakenly thought you were suggesting the driver was the problem.
