I tried to copy the i386 files into disk D: on hard drive and booted into dos to install xp from harddisk.

I already integrated SATA drivers into i386, but after copying the stage of copying files, it prompted 'missing operating system' after reboot.

    Don't know what's wrong here.

Does anybody installed xp from hard disk on dv2000t?

nLite can help you with the integration. Drivers I would guess are on the HP web site.
