So I ran 3dmark vantage and got a score of 6000 which is 600 points lower than what I believe I should be getting (6600). (if you search i7 2630qm with 6770m in 3dmark vantage results that is the most common score and the computers that get it are typically HP)
Maybe it's the drivers? How can I update the drivers / catalyst control center? I went to AMD's web site and tried it but it said it was incompatible with mine.
What else could be the problem?
P.S. Get the 1080P screen it's 9999x better than the glossy screen on my other laptop. The 1080P doesnt even matter it's the matte that really matters.
Edit: NVM do I download the catalyst control center 80 mb thing instead? Trying it now...
Edit #2: I guess I got the driver from Windows Update?
Edit #3: So I updated catalyst apparently but the driver hasn't updated. What gives?

Thanks a lot. So far I have updated catalyst through Windows Update, then I went to AMD's official web site and downloaded another catalyst update that may have been the same one.
Now I will follow your directions, I'll report back -
hmmm, i've been putting it off but really should do this too. will follow those directions as well :0

so I downloaded the drivers, installed it, and catalyst and everything appears to be functioning properly.I will report back if I see any performance improvements in Crysis or 3dmark vantage.
P.S. - Shouldn't I be able to download drivers from AMD's or HP's web site? HP has some drivers on their web site but they are 3 months old...do they just take a long time to update theirs? -
HP don't keep their drivers updated, if they did we might have a fix for the 6100 by now. And AMD don't support laptops with Intel IGPs. If you use their installer it won't work...it checks if you have Intel and then just shuts down.
The driver you have is a developer preview so can't be downloaded from AMD anyway. In anycase, I've not had any problems with it so you should be ok.
how to update AMD drivers?
