hi all! im new to the site here but i have been reading so many posts lately and it seems like an excellent site.

i have a hp 6265us and on the case there are lines (not lines per say but lines that divide the case into 2 parts) that are part of the case. on the left side, it seems to be a little raised and i noticed that if i put my fingernail under the part where the pcmia or expansion card thing is, i lift it up a little bit. it does not come apart but i am just wondering if this is normal.
i hope you can understand what i mean i couldnt think of any other way to describe the casing.

    Also my second question.

on the bottom right side of the laptop (palm rest) if i press on it it creaks a little like theres an air pocket in the plastic or something. nothing is broken but i am wondering if anyone else has this. it seems stable and durable its just that it makes creaking noises.

    thanks for your help

    -aaron

regarding your second, I kind of have the same thing on my dv6365us. When you press your palm down on the right side, sometimes I hear a creaking. like you, it seems table, but i wont deny the creaking makes me a teeny bit worried about the build quality. Hopefully its not a sign of anything more faulty.

My system has the same problem and I think its poor build quality. I had to give my system into the shop for a issue I had with the WIFI and I was given a loaner. The loaner did not have this issue at all. It was also a newer system. Perhaps HP improved their build quality in the newer systems. Anyhow I called the repair shop and asked them to add that to list of things to fix. We'll see what HP does about it.
