is the esata port on 8730w multiplier compatible??

can multiple drives be attached and, if yes,
will it be possible to use intel matrix storage
or windows utilities for configuring them in raid
    array??

will there be a performance hit routing quad channels
    through single esata connector??

this is what i want to use (without the pci-e card):

    or this:

ps. when will esata have power line implanted?

You can attach multiple eSATA drives through a port multiplier... some might come with on-board setup for RAID, JBOD, or individual drive setup...

The performance will be as fast as single eSATA connection... so it'll likely be slower than a similarly configured RAID setup in a desktop...

    eSATA powered connection... 2009 maybe?
