    Hey Guys,

I don't know why I'm having such a difficult time trying to find this answer but I hope someone here can help me.

I have an ENVY 17 with a hp BDDVDRW CA21N DVD drive. Can anyone tell me if it is a BluRay ROM or a BluRay writer?

    Thanks in advance.

The Envy's typically ship with a slot load BDROM/DVDRW drive. I'm not 100% sure what you have, but I'm just quoting you the standard hardware installed. If you bought this new from a store, then it more than likely is thew standard drive, but some people have performed aftermarket upgrades to install a BD Writer. Unless something has changed recently, HP does not offer a BD Writer on the Envy line (though that may change with the soon to be released 3rd gen).
