    Hey,

I recently contacted HP and asked about my notebook that was supposed to ship. They informed me that with the high demand for notebooks right now (it being the back-to-school time) most of the estimated dates have been set back about two weeks.

They specified in particular that the DV2700T and the DV7T might temporarily be pulled from the website due to the back order.

So if any of you are purchasing notebooks right now or are currently expecting them to ship, note the possible delay.

Anyhow, just my 2 cent contribution to the HP NBR section.

The CQ50Z is even further behind the two mentioned. Unfortunately, I happen to be waiting for one.

Mine had an estimated build date of August 1st. They told me it's being changed to August 18th and that is still subject to change.

Has your order status page on the HP site changed to reflect the new date, or does it still say Aug 1st?

I called in and asked. The date posted didn't change.

I'm currently awaiting the DV7t (from my signature).

You can still call in and cancel/ modify your order.

Terrific, now I definitely regret not getting the dv5. The ship date was sooner, and they were sending them out earlier than quoted. My luck......

This happens every year. On top of Back to school a lot of companies start letting inventory dwindle while they get ready for product refreshes. They want to sell out of current inventory before switching to the new product line.

I'm awaiting the arrival of the DV7T. Sure they let their current inventory "dwindle." However, you'd figure since they just released the DV4, DV5, and DV7 series notebooks there would be an excess amount of required components made for those particular notebooks.

That is understandable, but I order one every year at nearly the same time and this is the first "delay" I've encountered. Granted, I'm usually getting an older model and not a new release.......
