So basically the differences that I see are that the pavilion has windows 7 and a Nvidia 650m graphics card whereas the envy has windows 8 and a Intel 4000 graphics card.

Which one of above would you choose and why? considering the design as well.

Two weeks ago, i ordered a pavilion dv6t 7000 quad with virtually the same specs that you are looking at. I ended up going with the pavilion because i like windows 7 more than windows 8 (i used a demo computer at costco with windows 8 for a while). But this is more of a personal preference. I mainly had trouble finding things on windows 8. But then again, i have been using windows 7 since its release.

I also went with the pavilion because i planned on using it for gaming. The nvidia graphics card, in my opinion, is a better bet if you planned on using the laptop for gaming.

The pavilion does weigh 0.12 lbs more than the envy, im not sure if this makes a difference to you.

If you're gaming, then the GT 650M is a drastic and pivotal difference. If you're gaming, then the availability of the GT 650M would generally be a primary selling point of the DV6 line in the first place.

If you're not gaming (or, on the off chance, running other GPU-dependent software) then it shouldn't matter.

Also, is there a particular reason you need an i7 Quad Core CPU?
