so i stupidly installed windows vista on my 6125se. i hate everything about vista, every last detail. especially since it has killed my battery (it wont charge). I want to run the HP Battery Check but it will not run, vista just says "the program has stopped". ****ing great

I don't think Vista killed your battery.

I don't believe there's a version of HP Battery Check for Vista yet.

Hmm...HP Battery Check works on my Vista laptop...

Sorry about your situation though. It might be something else though, besides vista.

I have seen the XP Battery life tool Stop Responding on a Dell before.

All it took was a restart of the computer and it was all fine after that.

Have you tried Restarting the computer?

HP Support actually fixed the problem, who knew

Hadley: 1:You can download and install the Latest BIOS update from the
    following link:
    Hadley: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38061.exe
Hadley: Please make sure you copy and paste the complete link in the
address bar of a new Internet explorer window.
Hadley: II:To reinstall Power Management in Windows Vista, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, right click on computer.
    2. Click on device manager.
    3. Click the plus (+) sign next to System Devices.
    5. Right-click the ACPI Fixed Features button and select Uninstall.
    6. Restart the system.

On restarting the system, Windows will automatically detect and
install Power Management on the computer.
Hadley: And then perform the steps listed in the following link to
    caliberate the Notebook Battery.
    Hadley: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...7650&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
Hadley: Please make sure you copy and paste the complete link in the
address bar of a new Internet explorer window.
Hadley: And I'am sure the above steps should fix the issue.

reinstalling power management worked for me
