HP should accept PayPal online so that might be an option.

HP.com will only ship to US. If you're in another country, you're out of luck.

    Lithus is correct.

HP only ships customized orders to locations within the United States.

Try using google checkout it works just like pay pal and works on a lot of websites like buy.com
    https://checkout.google.com/
or use wire transfer ,most of the retailers accept it

Just register your foreign credit card with PayPal and choose it as payment option on HP site. I do exactly the same thing when buy from HP.

hmm interesting.. maybe you can help me out (once again, lol) suland... I registered in paypal and added my credit card to the account, even though the credit card appears as unverified. When i try to use the account on hp's site it doesnt allow me to select it as the credit card i'd like to use to pay, even though its the only one in the account. This is what it says in the hp -paypal site "You have 1 active cards Visa (XXXX-XXXX)in your account." still i cant use it... Any ideas? what was your experience when doing your purchase with paypal?

paypal terms usually require the seller to ship to the billing address or usually most sellers/companies use this policy for paypal.

you could call your credit card company and ask them to add or change your billing address to your US address for a while, or check out those online credit cards, maybe they might help

There is an option on the first page of PayPal after you push Checkout in HP site, where they say they will charge from your current acoount - "change". Just push that! It's hard to recognize, but you will find it!

im currently in the verification process.. what happens is paypal charges your credit card $1.95 and then you check your bank statement for a code that is right next to the description, there you should find a 4 digit code. That would be your verification code, enter it in the paypal website and that should do it. Once you are done verifying you have no limit as for how much you can spend via paypal. Hope this helps

by the way, i called paypal customer service and it is really great, i guess if you have very technical questions about how this works you could call them up.

never mind guys... the hp representative that said i could use paypal even with a foreign credit card was WRONG. Today i verified my account so as to lift the $1000 dollar limit so i called hp and tried to place my order with the verified non-usa paypal account and immediately hp said that it would not go through. :(

This is too bad as it was my last hope... i tried to transfer the amount from the non-us account to the us account and it was immediately flagged by the system. Because it is a new account and the amount seemed kind of large. I called customer service and there was nothing they could do. So i went back to the site and tried different amounts until i noticed my cap would be $499 for my first transfer... I went ahead and sent it to my account in the us and i guess ill wait a few days for the money to be there that is of course IF it gets there... :S

Will report what happens next... if anyone has a better idea please do tell... I just hope no one ever has to go through the many many hours i've been on the phone with both paypal and hp, i can tell you its not fun at all.

    Alex.

Maybe you didn't talk with right person. Sometimes you need to ask for people who can make this kind of decisions and give to you the last word.
A friend of mine told me about his DELL laptop problem, he demanded to speak with superior position and told him about his problem with his foreing credit card! In the end, my friend got his laptop! Happy ending.

HP might accept non-US American Express cards; I know a few other companies that do.

In my case, I found a company that accepted international CCs with domestic shipping addresses, so I was able to order my machine, ship it to Washington State, then drive across and pick it up.

Well in my case i did talk to a supervisor and she said there was nothing else they could do for me... She suggested to find a US credit card or a friend with one. Right now im just trying to figure out what to do :(

Any ideas? Has anyone purchased at hpshopping.com with an international paypal account?

They actually ship internationally too (I just shipped it to the border so I could pick it up and not pay brokerage fees) so if they carry the model you want and you don't live near the border you're fine :)

Just to update and to let others know what happen the last couple of days..

After i opened and verified my paypal account for my non-US credit card it seemed i had no limit for purchases with paypal. However, the same day i verified the account i placed an order with it and it did NOT go through. I called paypal's cust service and they explained that because the account was so new and had no "history" the transaction was immediately stopped "for security reasons" not one representative could give me any answers as to how long i had to wait to be able to use it for that amount of money. I called my bank to check that everything with my account and money was fine, they said yes, and still paypal would not work even to transfer the money from there to my US account. Lets just say i gave up on paypal for this one which is pretty sad because i know i did everything fine but i guess thats life.

I finally got the money in the US account and placed my order half an hour ago. FINALLY!! I cant believe it! Im just glad the new notebook is worth all the trouble i had to go through to get it!

In conclusion, if you are outside the US and are thinking about ordering from hp then find a friend who can lend you their credit card or have a paypal account with enough "history" so at least you can transfer funds.

Glad you got it sorted out Alex. Otherwise, my suggestion would have been to re-evaluate your need to have a customised system. I'm in a similar situation - I'm travelling from Australia, in the US for 7 weeks and needed a laptop. I had to settle for an off the shelf system, as a custom order from online sources would have taken precious weeks to build and deliver - not to mention the hassles over finances and acceptable payments.

You're tight erito, I went through the same problems trying to buy my 9500t. I had to use a credit card from my aunt and ship it to her house at Miami. It seems hp home it's not interesting in international marketting.

HP simply does not care, guys, as they are VERY busy with sales, especially when DELL is really SUCKS these days and lost 20% of their notebook operations recently due to delays.

Alex, you have finally made it! Congrats! Welcome to our -9500- neighborhood!

Some ideas for future visitors - If I recall correctly, Staples and Office Depot have "Configure Your Own" kiosks in-store where you can place custom orders for desktops and laptops; not sure which brands and how much customization is possible, delivery times, or policies for non-U.S. credit cards.

Another possibility is to check with the higher end "boutique" manufacturers like Alienware, Falcon Northwest, Velocity Micro, and Vigor Gaming, which have more experience with customized sales and may be better equipped to handle an unusual shipping or billing request than a mass production U.S. manufacturer.

Last suggestion, contact the small business divisions of the large manufacturers like Dell and HP, rather than the consumer sales division. Business sales departments may be better equipped to handle international customers.

And post-last suggestion, if possible, do your research and order with enough lead time so your laptop is delivered while you are in the U.S.
