This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I've Hp dv 5177 ea note book pc.

    I had to format and re-install windows XP on my notebook and i have no drivers available with me. I downloaded the drivers from HP website.. But only the graphics drivers worked but the audio drivers are installed but not working.
    When I open the audio drivers installed the drop down which shows enable/disable is disabled and no audio is played.. .

    What could be the reason and how to fix it.
