    Hi,
I am having some problems with my hp dv 6000t. I was in a rush so i had to shut down the computer quickly. the shut down screen was taking too long so I shut it down manually by pressing the power button. Now when i click a song or video for windows media player, nothin happens. When i try to open windows media player nothing happens. WMp only opens when i click run as administrator. could something have screwed WMP up when I shut it down inproperly. Also the scroller near the mouse pad works 1/4 of the time now. It is very weird. I do not know what to do with it. Is it something that has to do with the hardware or software of the laptop? i am running WMp 11 and vista basic. if anyone has any suggestions, please help me out.
    Thanks

Doubt a little manual shut-down could do these many damages.

For your song file, right-click on any one of them and choose "properties", and see if "Windows Media Player" is presented as the default player. If not go ahead and change it to WMP or any other player you wish.

As for the mouse pad scroll area, hmmm, you might need to update to the driver.
