hello everyone - i am new to actually posting on this forum - i have read it alot.
currently i have a compaq v2000z with the turion 2.0ghz processor and 1.25 gbs of ram.
i have been looking at the hp dv2000t with the core duo and the core 2 duo processors.
so i have 2 questions
1. how much better performance will i get with the core duo vs core 2 duo?
2. how much better performance will i have with the intel chip vs the amd chip?
i am looking at 2 factors battery life and overall performance.
thanks for your answers in advance.

If you are looking for battery life, everything seems to indicate that intel chips beat amd chips. Most people with Core Duo laptops report 3 hours of battery life (me included) while the AMD people report 2.5 hours of battery life.
Good luck -
i currently have the 12 cell battery - does anyone know what the battery life of a core duo or core 2 dou would do on the 12 cell battery?

You will get better battery life with the Core 2 Duo and a little better performance but it's not going to be very noticeable coming from a Turion X2 2Ghz. That is a Turion X2 isn't it or is it a single core Turion? If it's a single core then yeah the upgrade would be worth it for CPU power.
