    hi all

i have 816MB total graphic memory divided to:
    1-shared memory = 752MB
    2-dedicated memory = 64MB

i want to re-divide it like this:
    1-shared memory = 551MB
    2-dedicated memory = 256MB

some ppl told me that i can do that from the BIOS advanced option, unfortunately my BIOS didnt have advanced option.

plz help me what i should do
im searching over 1 week and i dont know what to do

It's not possible to increase dedicated video memory via software or BIOS.

Your computer has a video card with 64MB of dedicated video memory.

The video card can borrow up to 752MB of the 2046MB of RAM that you have and use it if it needs it (shared memory).

What you usually can do is, you can choose how much of your RAM you want to be available to be shared with the video card, but you can't increase the amount of physical dedicated video memory there is without replacing the video card (which is seldom possible in laptop computers).

Are you having trouble running a game or other computer program? There may be other solutions to your problem.

ok but i heard that when i open an application uses more than 64MB it borrow the supply it needs to run the application. is that true??
because i want to buy halo2 and it needs 128mb graphic memory .
and what do u think of this thread hxxp://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t48430.html

Yeah, it automatically reaches into the shared memory = 752MB that is there.

Total video memory = 816MB from Dedicated + Shared (64+752)

Dedicated is the video memory built onto the video card, and is the fastest memory available to the card and is used first. Anything needed past that will go into the slower shared RAM.

In the thread, do you mean about the upgrading of the video card? I assure you that that is quite impossible for most laptops (generally if you didn't buy it for the purpose of gaming, or if you didn't build it yourself, there won't be a slot to upgrade the video card). If there was another video card option when you bought the computer, it is perhaps possible to upgrade to that specific card, but I wouldn't look into it.

Halo 2 will probably run fine with lower settings. If you want you can try this website that will scan your computer and tell you if you if you can run it. Even if it says you can't play the game, you probably can, but it'll be really slow and look like crap.

i visited ur site and i was surprised i passed in the recommended requirements
    hxxp://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=65888396hw4.jpg
and as u can see there is no problem with video card.
so when they say the game needs 128MB they mean the whole memory ( dedicated + shared ).
    I'm i correct?
if so then i will stop hating my laptop

1 more thing should i be worry about the dvd speed and how to know it because its not analyzed in the site.

Your laptop is not going to run Halo 2 at very well. It will eek by at low textures running at a low resolution.

IMO increasing the amount of shared video memory will not do you any good.

Windows Experience Index (WEI) is nice, but it doesn't matter enough to be concerned about, unless something is drastically off..

I believe that the computer sees dedicated+shared as one. But note that dedicated VRAM is faster than shared RAM.. (but you can't change the amount you have).

From someone who ran the game on a similar video card. Related. Note that the person has an 8400m with 128MB VRAM.

Also note that your computer got 3.5 in graphics while that person got a 4.1 (because of possibly a combination of, more dedicated VRAM, faster GPU clocks, better drivers?).

i want to buy the game
but I'm afraid to start installing and game says the computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements

1- i used windows game advisor and it said the game will run
2- i used hxxp://systemrequirementslab.com and it said the game will run

    (should i buy the game?)
    i need ur advice
